They say leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, DAV Centenary Public School, Haridwar elected Students Council after scrutinous interviewing and selection.

 

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2022-23 was held on the 06 August 2022 under the headship of Mr. Manoj Kumar Kapil, Teacher Inchargel, DAV Centenary Public School, Haridwar. Supervisory Heads, Mrs. Kusumbala Tyagi and Ms. Hemlata Pandey also graced the programme.

 

Mrs. Sonia Tyagi, Mrs. Rashmi Baluni, Mrs. Sonia Kapoor and Mr. Rajat Duseja held the harness of the programme with their immaculate anchoring which helped in a fluent conduction of ceremony.

 

The ceremony commenced with Saraswati Vandana followed by the Prefects’ March in honour of the Head of the school. Thereafter, the most awaited moment came when the students of class 12 and 11 were decked with badges for various positions in the Students' Council.

The most prestigious position in the life of a school student is that of a Head boy or  a Head girl. It is a matter of pride and elation for the school to have  found well disciplined, dedicated, creative and enthusiastic Head boy and Head girl in  Divyansh Dargan, class Xll-A , and Aditi Pandey, class XIl-B respectively. The Teacher Incharge did the honour of pinning the badges and adorning the sashes . Next came the turn to announce the Vice Head boy and the Vice Head girl. Kartik Taneja and Vanshika Khanna of XI-A have been elected as the vice head boy and Vice Head girl for the session 2022-23.

Carrying on the ceremony further, the House Captains (boy and girl) and Vice House Captains (boy and girl) of Ganga House (Mohil Jain and Kashish Chitkara), Satluj House (Prakul Parashar and  Isha Sharma), Narmada House (Shlok Kurl and Ishita Chandwani) and Krishna House (Milind Bansal and Nandini Rajoriya) were adorned with the insignia of the positions.

Hereafter, other Students’ Council Members under Literary Incharge, Editorial Incharge, Cultural Incharge, Sports Incharge and Discipline Incharge categories were decked with prestigious badges.

 

The Teacher Incharge, Mr. Manoj Kumar Kapil headed the oath ceremony and, thereafter, inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible, emphasising the importance of being honest towards the duties and maintaining togetherness. He appreciated the efforts by the school for providing opportunities to the students to take part in activities like these. He also congratulated the newly appointed school prefectorial board for their preparedness to take responsibilities. He asked them to use these opportunities and balance them well with academics to excel in both.  

The newly appointed Head Boy and the Head Girl addressed the gathering and promised to live up to the expectations of the school with their incessant efforts.

Mrs. Sonia Kapoor extended the thanks to all through her heartfelt words.
